Peter L. Burgess
Pete has represented banks and financial institutions for more than 25 years. From a simple bankruptcy reaffirmation to a complex commercial foreclosure, Pete handles the full spectrum of creditor’s rights work. His practice is guided by the principles of availability, timeliness, efficiency, and expertise. His approach is hands on and results driven.
Pete graduated from Marquette University in 1988 and Albany Law School in 1991. He founded the firm in 2007. Pete enjoys practicing law and brings that enthusiasm to every assignment that comes across his desk.
Melissa H. Pugliese
Prior to joining Burgess & Associates in 2009, Melissa was counsel and chief of staff to a New York State Senator for 14 years. During this time, she dealt with small business and economic development issues on a daily basis.
Melissa now uses her well-developed people skills and negotiation experience to represent banks in commercial real estate transactions, foreclosure actions, and bankruptcy cases.
Melissa graduated from Union College in 1992 and Albany Law School in 1995. Melissa consistently provides her clients with personal attention, rapid responses, and attention to detail on every matter, big or small.
